A united Palestinian Authority must initiate a new Palestinian spring to force Israel to choose between: being a Jewish only democracy, becoming a bi-national state, or give up on subjugating the Palestinian people and their land.

Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians are a regular occurrence. Arsons, stonings, destruction of property, shootings, physical attacks and harassment are but a few of the daily occurring categories we have kept track of in the Palestine Centre’s Settler Violence database.

Palestinian residents in Silwan, East Jerusalem, daily face violent attacks by the Israeli army. Most of the attacks are during the night, 80 residents from the neighbourhood Albustan in Silwan got a house demolition order. Israel is planning to build the King’s Garden in this area. Residents of Albustan are bullied by the army and settlers in order to leave their homes ‘volunteerly’.

The Prawer plan, named for Ehud Prawer, the head of planning policy in Netanyahu’s office, is intended as the coup de grace of the Israeli government’s efforts to strip the Bedouin of most of their ancestral lands.

Palestinian President, Mahmud Abbas, whose presidency had expired since early 2009, is treading a dangerous path when submitted a formal bid on Friday September 23rd to the UN to recognize a Palestinian Statelet – on the remaining fragmented and besieged by the separation wall 20% of historical Palestine- that would gain a full membership to the international organization.
