Israeli’s ability to force Europeans to say uncle does bode ill for the planned show of force in the UN this September. Not only has the US Congress threatened to stop paying its dues, the European states seem to have caught a case of cold feet. Without Europeans, passage of a pro-Palestinian resolution is unlikely – this as Europe agonizes over even the thought of upsetting Jews.

Several other Marches are also being organized towards the Palestinian borders in other surrounding Arab countries (Egypt, Syria, Jordan). Demonstrations targeting “Israeli” embassies are also planned in a number of Western cities to protest the occupation of Palestine and the Zionist apartheid regime.

Israel has arrested, beaten, gassed, tortured, deported and killed internationals — essentially a taste of the measures it inflicts daily against the Palestinians. But nothing has succeeded in deterring the international solidarity movement from resisting Israel’s violence and aggression, and nonviolently supporting the Palestinian freedom struggle.
