In another blow to Israeli shares, the Harvard Management Company notified the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Friday that it had sold all its holdings in Israeli companies during the second quarter of 2010.

California Divestment campaign
Our government has remained silent and done nothing to end Israel’s brutal occupation. In fact, our tax dollars help fund the occupation through an annual grant to Israel that exceeds $3 billion and $120 billion over the past 3 decades. Californians can help end our government’s complicity and help begin a state-by-state divestiture movement that parallels the anti-Apartheid movement that helped end white rule in South Africa.

If more American college campuses and local agencies pass divestment measures, eventually members of U.S. Congress may come to see that they must listen to their pro-justice, pro-peace constituents and not only to AIPAC. If that happens, a U.S. anti-occupation act could become a possibility.
