Around 1996, the United Nations stated that about half a million Iraqi children had died due to the US led embargo on Iraq. For example, the USA bombed Iraq’s water treatment facilities which led to wide spread diseases such as cholera, but the sanctions forbade Iraq to import Chlorine to clean the water. From 1996 until 2003, probably many more Iraqi children died from the same causes. However, this mass murder of Iraqi children and the USA’s responsibility was hardly mentioned in US news.
