Oh, hmm, an order-of-magnitude mistake, on my part, in the above comment, to be corrected.

I wrote that revenus from a developed Gaza Marine, natural gas field, in Gazan territorial waters, could bring $4 million in revenus. Make that $4 billion.

[the 'm's and 'b's and 't's of huge sums are difficult to keep straight :].

In addition, estimates of the initial field studies indicate that there may be additional oil deposits under and around the gas fields, which is why Israel is all the more adament about cutting Palestine out.

Each of us needs to stay vigilant on this vital subject.

Oil and gas do not constitute a long-term panacea for anyone, much less Palestine, but the Zionist colonizers of the region should not be allowed to exploit the resources that each and every UN resolution recognizes as belonging to Palestine.

Good interview. Thank you, intifada-palestine.com

Ken is quite right to stress the importance of reviving the Palestinian economy, following the elimination of Israel's blockade. There is no reason for Palestinians to live on foreign 'aid'; between them they have ingenuity galore, matched only by their stamina and ambition.

We who live outside Palestine need to be prepared to insist, unequivocally, that Israel cease blocking Palestinian efforts to develop their offshore natural gas field, known as Gaza Marine, which, according to estimates could bring in approx. $4 million in revenues. – It should be understood that a good deal of Israel's true purpose in maintaining the marine blockade on Gaza has to do with Israel's intention to rob the Palestinians of that offshore resource. Remain up to date on developments, everyone.

It is also vital that every effort be made to coordinate commercial initiatives, and other, in Gaza and the West Bank, where a number of promising programs are under development. See notably Wael Al Saad's project for a Holistic Green Economy: http://alturl.com/kdai4 [further links and info at end of article] and the Marda Permaculture Farm: http://www.foodfirst.org/en/node/2932, both of which merit support.

May Palestinian freedom and autonomy come soon.
