An articulate and angry Kenneth O’Keefe, in a pretty intense interview, with BBC. He was on the MV Mavi Marmara ship carrying aid to Gaza, when Israeli commandos raided the ship, killing nine peace activists onboard and wounding several. Kenneth claims he helped disarm the Israeli commandos. He starts of at the very outset by stating, “Palestinians are killed everyday by Israelis and we never hear about it in the Media.” A classic BBC HARDTALK, every bit worth watching.

Biography
I was born in July of 1969, I have worked as an entrepreneur, marine conservationist, and Human Rights Activist. Born in California, I renounced my American citizenship on March 1, 2001 in Vancouver Canada. I now proudly hold Irish, Hawaiian and Palestinian citizenship. although my ultimate allegiance is to all people and thus I am in truth a world citizen.
Before I was conscious however I served in the United States Marine Corps. During the 1991 Gulf War I was ordered, along with several hundred thousand other service members, to take experimental injections and pills that have since been identified as a factor in “Gulf War Syndrome”, many have subsequently died from this condition. I also have reason to believe that I/we were exposed to Depleted Uranium while in Kuwait and on the border of Iraq.
As a Marine I spoke out openly about abuse of power by my “superiors” and as a consequence I paid a heavy price. I realised that honour and integrity were virtues which are often punished rather then rewarded and the Marines supplied me with my first serious taste of injustice. This experience taught me one central lesson, just how precious freedom is. Upon my discharge for the Marines I vowed to never relinquish my freedom again and to defend freedom without fear.

I am from vancouver,canada and i have been following the news of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla.I see you put your experience in the marines to good use.It is good to have experience like that for when it is needed.In 1961 the Kennedy administration sent well armed and trained mercenaries to Cuba to overthrow a gov.that the cuban people fought for.So the cuban people didn’t have any intention of letting these merceneries get the better of them.Besides the cuban army the people were armed to and had military training.The merceneries were defeated within three days.It is good that people like yourself are fighting side by side with the Palestinian People.Keep up the good work.

The woman interviewer was shockingly pro Israel and constantly looked for ways to discredit O’keefe. When Ken talked about importing goods into Palestine for the betterment of the population she said “wouldn’t it be better if the Palestinians exported goods” Ken pointed out that they “grow an abundance of Carnations in Palestine but are not allowed to export them, obviously a security risk”. A clear and present danger to the world, the invasion of the carnation. What kind of moron is that woman I suspect even she wriggled with embarrassment on seeing herself on the playback, such was her crass stupidity in looking for ways to justify the Israeli murders and ongoing abuse of the Palestinians. Sign me up for a spot on the next flotilla.

She did not have to discredit him as he was doing a great job by himself. All aid could have gotten to Gaza Via Israeli port or Egyptian Port, but the flotilla was never about getting aid to Gaza but about breaking the blockade and he himself stated this. The aid to gaza flotilla was a lie and should have been called “Break the blockade at all costs and support Hamas”. Why does the UN not setup a post on egypt border with Israeli, Egypt and PLO observers and allow aid thought Egypt border?.Hamas and their supporters would hate this as it would weaken Hamas, but Egypt, Israel and PLO would get what they want and the poeple of Gaza get the aid.

For someone who claims his only interest in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is peace, you are ultra defensive for Israel and never mention Palestine except to berate her whereas Israel gets the “can do no wrong treatment” Never a mention of the atrocities they have committed. Do you know about the USS Liberty. That’s who we are dealing with, a country that will attack its allies and kill them, like the “Mad Dogs” they are. In the case of the USS Liberty, they attacked and tried to sink it in the hope that we would think it was someone else, in that instance Egypt, and con us into doing their dirty for them work by invading the land of the pharaohs . It didn’t work out with the USS Liberty the way they hoped but they murdered 37 US servicemen and and badly injured 200 and got away with it. The US government covered it up. Why remains to be seen. Maybe that will change soon as the tide is turning and old grudges of the ‘Liberty’ kind are about to rise to the surface and Israel will pay. When the first flotilla sailed past Israels blockade it was because they named the lead ship Liberty. Had Israel attacked them, as they did recently, and killed the crew, as they wanted to, the whole USS liberty debacle would have come to the surface, so they kept their revolting mouths shut and let the flotilla go by. The next flotilla should name every ship the Liberty 1 2 3 4 etc. That should make it interesting.

If you want peace in the Middle East then why would you accept any blockade in the first place. If Gaza is part of Palestine what right does Israel have to close its ports? Both Israel and Egypt are treating Gaza badly. If you want a two state ption it will still need two things. The Borders of Gaza must be opened and not blockaded and secondly ALL the land that has been occupied in the West Bank (and cut off by he “security wall” in many cases) has to be given back, that will mean the illegal settlers being removed by their government – Israel.
Lets stop messing around here, Israel needs to get real and admit what it has done and put it right all the wrongs it has committed since 1947.

However my point is that under the UN description for what constitutes apartheid I think we can safely say Israel is an Apartheid State and should be punished in the same way as South Africa was. The Zionist State of Israel is most certainly oppressing and persecuting the Palestinian population, they are treated as second class citizens.

you could argue that was it not for the fact that the BBC are openly pro Israel and never support the obvious to everyone else, plight of the Palestinians. Remember the out pour over Haiti and I’m not saying they didn’t deserve every sympathy, but are the BBC saying the innocent men women and children of Palestine do not deserve help and support.
